I had heard that he has been working out at one of the Mets baseball academies (Dominican Republic?). Other teams are still interested in him, but this might indicate the Mets are the frontrunners. Seen those pics on a few Metly blogs in the last week, in conjunction with rumors that he's drifting away from signing with the Sox. I'd like to see him in camp, myself. Only problem is, those pictures were posted to Flicker in August and December. There doesn't seem to be anything new or current-- and therefore, nothing newly indicative-- about his working out at the complex.

i believe maya is still waiting on a visa to 'work' in the US. hence, he cannot sign with anyone...
