Me too , especially when I read " He said the initial physical raised a small concern with doctors,".. Bobby V was around the Mets dugout yesterday doing Baseball Tonight duties/research . Bob Melvin in the the Snooze today , he'll be scouting the AL West and East for the Mets .
"You know, it's still baseball," Melvin said regarding scouting. "With the lack of managerial jobs out there, you've got to do something in this game. I was lucky enough to land with the Mets. Omar (Minaya) has been good to me here, and John Ricco. I'm excited to be part of the organization and just look at the game from a little different perspective."

Jose Reyes has been scratched from today's game. He said the initial physical raised a small concern with doctors, so he needed to do additional blood work this morning.
His blood was still spinning when they first tested it. They're hoping it's calmed down by this point.

[quote="dgwphotography":2gtyl0bf]That's Minnie The Moocher sung by Cab Calloway..[/quote:2gtyl0bf] Thanks. I had wondered that for a while. The Marxes sang something almost like that during their "The Country's Going to War" number near the end of Duck Soup, but it didn't sound quite like what the PA was playing. Now I can stop wondering! R.A. Dickey has given up four runs now and is still pitching in the third.

This commercial that MLB Network shows, where Peter Gammons is sitting there listing baseball players (Dustin Pedroia, CC Sabathia, Albert Pujols, Zack Greinke, Tim Lincecum, Adam Wainwright, Kirby Puckett, Johnny Bench, Joe DiMaggio...) reminds me of Bubba in Forrest Gump. If they're trying to make him look like a babbling fool, they're doing a good job.

By the way, seven Met runs in the fifth and sixth greet the Calero news and the Metzies lead 11-6. Omir Santos is 2-2, batting 1.000 in his fight for survival. Ike Davis has walked in both of his plate appearances. In terrible news, Gary Matthews has thrown a runner out at second.

Sean Green, shaking with thoughts of Kiko taking his job, gives up four runs with an assist from an errant Ike Davis, who is not making this team. The Mets lead is down to 11-10.

Re: IGT, 3/4, More Tastey Clitrus

Heard about 10 minutes of WFAN late last night and all three calls I heard concerned the fact that the Mets "HAD" to make Ike the starting 1B for opening day ... "he's 23 years old already and Murphy's not going to cut it" The host was doing his best to calm them all down but apparently two good games in ST trumps reports of trouble with both breaking balls and LHPs plus the drawback of barely 200 ABs above A-ball.

Re: IGT, 3/4, More Tastey Clitrus

He's played all three Mets games thus far, but he's made potentially catastrophic errors in the last two. As it's hard to expect him to keep hitting at this rate, perhaps folks should be rooting for him to stop fielding at this rate.
