Pagan batted leadoff and Reyes thoid. Gary Matthews took the opportunity to lobby for himself as leadoff batter.

I guess I just never saw him in that role.

Because he's fun to beat up on --- and even if he was a poor match for third base --- does not indicate he's incapable of coaching players.
