The Cards are starting the pretty boys while the Mets are packing the lineup with bench candidtates treading water. KEEP HOPE ALIVE!

Thats for sure..I would really love to see Maine go a solid 5. Don't even know who Vladespin(o) is. Watch Fernando hit 2 out of the park to complicate the pre-Beltran CF position in a good way. Spring is here in the northeast, Bring it on!

Is that a female voice doing the play-by-play on ESPN?

I guess so. Apparently, it's "Beth."

Maine looking like a career minor leaguer, pitching Ryan off the plate and then getting taken deep when he's finally forced to come over the plate.

I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've ever heard a female voice calling a baseball game. (And no, I'm not overlooking Suzyn Waldman; I don't watch or listen to Yankee broadcasts.)

What will Keith Hernandez think about a woman calling games, nice work Dickshot.

Catalanotto has doubled in Tatis to get the Mets on the board.

A second knock for Tatis and Catty comes up with two on and no out.

The chick would appear to be Beth Mowins with ESPN since 1994, specializing in hoops and "where needed"

Alex Cintron is pinch-hitting for the Mets. When did we get Alex Cintron in camp?

[quote="Edgy DC":1wbnos4i]Alex Cintron is pinch-hitting for the Mets. When did we get Alex Cintron in camp?[/quote:1wbnos4i] Well, you give him one camp invite, and then another, and before you know it, he's showing up unbidden, like a replacement-level kitten.

Cintron was already there , the Mets Spring Training doubles as the Puerto Rican national team head quarters.

One on, one out for Pagan.

Pagan whiffs on a crap call. Has Dennys Reyes always been so huge?

Jacobs' day: 0-3, K, BB (!), one biffed pop-up (with an assist to Valdespin). To be fair, it was against a very good, MLB-caliber bunch of pitchers.
