Saw that coming. Even with Reyes out, their behavior didn't suggest they were serious about carrying him.

He gets to re-unite with Manny Acta.

I first read that as

Anderson Hernandez Chained by Injuns

I thought , weird day in MLB.

I don't see anything wrong with this.

How much did we have to pay them to take him?

I suspect that one day he'll become a three-time Met.

How many have there been?

And here comes John Wayne over the hill to save him.

I think we're still at zero, unless I'm overlooking somebody.

If Tom Seaver had pitched for the 1987 Mets, he would have been a three-timer.

I'd have waited until Reyes was activated before putting Hernandez through waivers, unless I was sure I wanted to bring Tejada north with me.

Pedro Feliciano is a three-time Met. You just can't tell from the back of his baseball card.

In the realm of continuity, Bill Pulsipher is a rare Two Comma Met, service time expressed as such:

1995, 1998, 2000

But he didn't leave the organization during the first comma.

Mike Jorgensen also has two commas.

Re: Anderson Hernandez Claimed by Injuns

Here's Pedro. He wasn't even originally Met property, which means they thought enough of him to acquire him as a pro three times.

June 1, 1995: Drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 31st round of the 1995 amateur draft. Player signed June 11, 1995.

October 15, 2001: Granted Free Agency.

November 19, 2001: Signed as a Free Agent with the Cincinnati Reds.

August 15, 2002: Traded by the Cincinnati Reds with players to be named later and Elvin Andujar (minors) to the New York Mets for Shawn Estes and cash. The Cincinnati Reds sent Raul Gonzalez (August 20, 2002) and Brady Clark (September 9, 2002) to the New York Mets to complete the trade. Begin Tenure 1.

October 11, 2002: Selected off waivers by the Detroit Tigers from the New York Mets. End Tenure 1, lasting six games.

December 16, 2002: Released by the Detroit Tigers.

April 3, 2003: Signed as a Free Agent with the New York Mets. Begin Tenure 2.

December 20, 2003: Granted Free Agency.

December 21, 2003: Signed as a Free Agent with the New York Mets.

January 24, 2005: Purchased by Fukuoka Daiei Hawks (Japan Pacific) from the New York Mets. End Tenure 2, lasting 45 games.

February 28, 2006: Signed as a Free Agent with the New York Mets. Begin Tenure 3, lasting 312 games and counting.

It's just so excellent.

I think either Tejeda or Adams would need to be added to the 40 if we're going to need a SS for even a several week long Reyes-less period -- and both those guys would & should be ahead of AndyHandy.

Wasn't Endy a three time Met? Four time if you count Rule 5 returns?

October 19, 2006 made him an All-Time Met.
