Spring Training standings, if nothing else, give us something of a glimpse of what a world might be like if leagues were based --- as some might advocate --- entirely on geographical proximity, with most teams east of the Mississippi training in Florida and most west of the Miss in Arizona. Mostly.

Thanks to the Dodgers and Reds vamoosing this year, Florida and Arizona have 15 clubs each now. I wonder if the odd number explains any of what seems to be more off-days this spring than usual. Eh, prolly not.

I suspect that they deal with the odd number of teams by scheduling those B-squad games.
