1:57 PM By David Lennon

The Mets have sent a skeleton crew on most trips this spring, but tonight is a different story after most of the regulars skipped the three-hour bus trip to Fort Myers on Wednesday. Here's the lineup for Jupiter:

Pagan - cf

Castillo - 2b

Wright - 3b

Jacobs - 1b

Bay - lf

Francoeur - rf

Cora - ss

Blanco - c

Perez - sp

Re: NY Mets @ FLA Marlins

lenno212: Manuel just said Cora will replace Reyes - at least in the short term. Tejada would be a call-up with training wheels.

lenno212: Personally, I think Catalanotto over Jacobs: experienced pinch hitter and versatile fielder. Tatis has to make it because he's righthanded.

lenno212: Manuel said if #Mets take Jacobs, he'll have to play to stay sharp at plate. So Murphy's time already being trimmed before season begins.

lenno212: Takahashi still alive for rotation. Will make two starts, tentatively scheduled for March 27 and 31, as of yet undetermined pitch length.

Speaking of the Marlins, the Mets june series at Miami has been moved to Hiram Bithorn Stadium in Puerto Rico.

So we get to see Alex Cora starting at SS for some bit of time. I'd prefer it be Tejada but so be it.

And now we're not. Nolasco was perfect thru 4 1/3 but Bay doubled and Francoeur homered, tying it 2-2.

Ollie: 6 hits, 1 walk, 2 Ks in 4. Throwing strikes is good!

That line on Ollie is the best thing I've seen in camp this spring

Igarashi gave up a single and a walk, but came back to whiff Uggla and Ross to get out of trouble.

CF kaboom by Bay makes it 4-2 in the 7th. FernyMar subs in for Frenchy, and promptly singles in the fifth run. 2 1/3 scoreless from HisaMania-- 2 H, 1 BB, 1 K closes it out.

Jacobs goes 0-4, with no Ks or BBs. His ST numbers:

25 PA, 4 H, 5 BB (!), 2 K (!), 2 HR, .200 AVG/.267 OBP/.500 SLG.

Carter's, in an even tinier sample:

14 PA, 5 H, 2 BB, 2 K, 3 HR, .417 AVG/.500 OBP/1.250 SLG.

All good, apparently. Knee bruise. He's scheduled to go tomorrow.

After the wake.
