About fucking time , now take down Gate 2 and stop the crying about how it's historic and should be preserved. Build the damn playing fields you promised the people there.

Fuck "promised." Give the people what they paid for-- in space and money.

Some guy was crying about this on the radio at about 6:30 this morning -- at least we won a title before the old one was torn down so we know all the ghost made it out of there ...
And, yeah, the word 'cathedral' was mentioned at least twice during his 30 second call

If they want to save one of the gates as some sort of entrance-way to whatever parkland will eventually be there then I don't have a problem with that -- but Geez, it's only been a year and a half since the last fuckin' game was played there, it would be nice to see them decide on something before we're into the era where Bloombeg is $trong-arming the city council to change the rules again in order to run for his fifth term.
Or did these dorks spend all this time thinking that no one was going to have the nerve to really knock the place down and so this last-gasp preservation idea is just occurring to them? --- (and, just as I'm typing this, one of these very dorks is whining on the radio about how he can't believe the decision was made to replace the stadium .... uhhh, aren't you just a bit late to the party pal?)

What am I missing here? Either the video I viewed got cut off or there was nothing there that had anything to do with the Yanx.
And besides, if the idea was to photo-shop a picture of the half-wrecked YS next to the stub statue of Liberty, that idea was done more than a year ago with Shea.

I was there the other night and I have to say, MFYs or no MFYs, a half-destroyed baseball stadium is an ugly site to see.

That they actually went ahead and tore down the "old" Yankee Stadium. Yes, we all knew it was coming, but still some of the traditionalists among us might still find it hard to believe (especially since these stadiums are usually built when the teams say that they cannot "compete" without the added revencue streams and we all know that is not true as far as the Yanks are concerned).

It was just a joke anyway.
