One of my big time-sucks is quizzes on Sporcle.

Can you name all the current Triple-A cities?

Can you name the New York Mets Opening Day lineups between 1991 and 2010?

A disturbing 34/47. I blame my headache, and my dumb, dumb brain.

I got 41 on that one. (only missed one player on the team all season, Opening Day 2Bman actually) I'd fail the other ones hard probably. AAA cities? hah.

I did OK with 42. Somehow I forgot Nieve was a Met despite his 200 appearances in April alone. And I kept guessing Manny Aybar when I mean Manny Whathisname.

He's one I missed who also cost me time, because I tried at least 7-8 different spellings.

I also missed Bay.

i sucked on that AAA quiz. I just started listing out mid-size cities that have teams in other sports but not in baseball. that helped a lot..but still missed a bunch.

16 AAAs - not so great, but I did get Reno, which only 21% guessed right.

And this is kinda horrible to admit, but I did fill in all the blanks to Jingle Bell Rock.

Re: Baseball on Sporcle

I knew all the AAA cities but didn't get full credit because I couldn't figure out how to spell Albuquerque (I swear I did it right at least once but it didn't accept it).
The quiz also didn't accept 'Gwinnet County' for the Braves although if you typed in their former home of Richmond it instantly converted to their new name.

Like most peeps I'm sure, got all the short names in the HR race but missed the three long ones. Again spelling nabbed robbed me of one answer.

With a clock ticking down and the pressure on, too many guys outside of my division become "you know, that white outfield guy on the Angels." I'm sure fantasists do better on such quizzes than I do.

(Speaking of that guy, how does he get 240 hits one year and never before or since get more than 166?)

Eleven, though a couple were cheap. One I got because I was thinking of a more recent pitcher with the same last name. For another, I just started typing in common names that begin with that letter, and somehow guessed correctly. Never actually heard of the guy.

9 on wins leaders, which is just a ridiculous thing.

22 for 30 on the East to West, which feels like a failure.

18 on the HOF votes, which leaves me with no particular sensation.

Before looking at the teams, my first guess would have been Matt Stairs. Turns out he's homered against 29 teams but has never gone yard against the Mets.

Beltran is also at 29 (never against KC).
