Zimmerman apparently tweaked a quad during the first game or two of the season-- yesterday's early exit was due to an aggravation of that. He may not be starting, but you just know Willie F. Harris is lurking in the weeds like a moccasin, or a closeted politician at a rest stop. And if Jacobs can't whack one of Senor Frisbee's fastballs out, he's dead to me.

Enjoy it. I got the idea that, when he gave up that triple, he was nibbling trying to keep that one run from scoring, like it was the ninth.

Maybe that Francoeur throw will get the fans off their asses and cheering, even without scoreboard-led help. The only things Mathews needed to make those two catches were a bicycle, a ladder, and maybe a ticket.

Ugh, Jacobs. I know it's only 6 games and all, but he's a vacuous, sucking, black hole in the middle of this lineup. Not for nothing, but Carter is .273/.385/.727 in 11 AB's in Buffalo and Ike's even better, .400/.571/.900 (yeah, i typed it right) in 10 ABs. Shit, give Tatis a few more ABs. Something. C'mon, Valdez, give us a 1-2-3 and then let's put up a 6-spot on these bitches.

I imagine we'll see Murphy before Carter or Ike, but yeah. There was no reason not to give Carter the first crack at that job. Gameday is suggesting everything Valdes throws is straight, but he's getting the job done.

Pitch a bit inside nicked Harris on the forearm. As he was heading toward first Rodriguez moved toward him, yelling and gesturing, apparently dissatisfied with something Harris was saying. The rest of it was Bench Clearing 101, no punches thrown, barely any shoving. So now let's see if the Nats try to exact some misplaced vengeance, or if they'll just allow the Mets to load the bases before snuffing out a stillborn rally.

Boorajas. Not quite sure what hap'd. Harris was hit, said something --- the implication was that he turned to suggest to the bench that he was hit in response to yesterday's catch, and Rodriguez told him to get his ass to first. Barajas pops out. Now Pagan. Should have been Pagan and Tatis.
