He's swole.

Doy-- Lindsey Buckingham.

With extra points for pulling the rare girl-named-dude-dating-dude-named-girl (Stevie, natch).

Although... IIRC, Jani Lane married Bobbi Brown (the "Cherry Pie" bim-- er, nice lady), so, maybe not so rare.

Leslie Alexander, owner of the NBA's Houston Rockets:

And it's completely unnecessary for me to bring up this guy:

Ripped from today's headlines! Yesterday's L.A. Times, anyway...

What's gender when you're D.C. Democrats trying to defeat a California Republican named Dana?

April 1, 2010 | 4:58 pm

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is doing everything it can to defeat certain targeted Republicans around the country. All part of the perpetual PR combat between parties.

One of those targeted Republicans is Dana Rohrabacher, a former speechwriter for President Reagan and an 11-term Republican who represents California's 46th Congressional District, basically built around Long Beach-Huntington Beach and nearby areas.

Need any proof of Washington's basic cluelessness these days? The D.C.-based Democratic committee apparently needs help figuring out exactly who or what it is really after.

Today it put out a news release headlined:

Not an April Fools’ Day Joke: Representative Dana Rohrabacher Caught Trying to Take Credit for Jobs She Voted Against
Too bad the release wasn't an April Fool's Day joke. It would have made sense then. Because Dana Rohrabacher is a guy.

Maybe you think it was just a simple typo? Here's a quote from the release:

Representative Dana Rohrabacher is still trying to have it both ways by trying to take credit for President Obama’s economic recovery policies that she voted against but even on April Fools’ Day, voters will see what a joke her hypocrisy is.
Or what shoot-at-anything-that-moves is anyway.

I've come across quite a few male Danas lately. I'm starting to think Dana may be bucking the usual trend of male name -> gender neutral -> female name.

DC mayors are well represented in the girly name world.

Current mayor Adrian Fenty

And, of course, this former DC mayor was set up with a girly name, too.

I've always had Dana in the Lee category of who knows? But just as Lee Mazzilli transcends such categorization, so does our man at Hofstra, Dana Brand.

The lyrics to Simon And Garfunkel's A Simple Desultory Philippic Lyrics (Or How I Was Robert McNamara'd into Submission) consist largely of Proper Nouns used as verbs.

I been Norman Mailered, Maxwell Taylored.
I been John O'Hara'd, McNamara'd.
I been Rolling Stoned and Beatled till I'm blind.
I been Ayn Randed, nearly branded
Communist, 'cause I'm left-handed.
That's the hand I use, well, never mind!

I been Phil Spectored, resurrected.
I been Lou Adlered, Barry Sadlered.
Well, I paid all the dues I want to pay.
And I learned the truth from Lenny Bruce,
And all my wealth won't buy me health,
So I smoke a pint of tea a day.

I knew a man, his brain was so small,
He couldn't think of nothing at all.
He's not the same as you and me.
He doesn't dig poetry. He's so unhip that
When you say Dylan, he thinks you're talking about Dylan Thomas,
Whoever he was.
The man ain't got no culture,
But it's alright, ma,
Everybody must get stoned.

I been Mick Jaggered, silver daggered.
Andy Warhol, won't you please come home?
I been mothered, fathered, aunt and uncled,
Been Roy Haleed and Art Garfunkeled.
I just discovered somebody's tapped my phone.

I lost my harmonica, Albert.

The song is a Dylan spoof - it's sung in about as close to a Dylanesque voice as Paul Simon can manage. In that context, it's actually a great line.
