There was a chick down the hall from me one semester named Kevin.

More famously, Ma Walton and game show contestant, Michael Learned.

French novelist George Sand - although that was a pseudonym for Amantine Aurore Lucile Dupin

TV shows seem to be big on giving female characters guys' names, leading me to think that it's considered cool in some circles.
There was the early 90s show 'Sisters' - which, even though I never watched it, it remains stuck in my mind for their 'intentionally edgy' use of giving all the leads (looking this up) guys' names: Alex, Georgie, Teddy and Frankie
'Scrubs' was also big on this with lead characters Eliot and Jordan, plus sometimes (but not always) giving girlfriends of the male lead names of Danny, Jamie, and Alex

Sisters was a show that, no matter how desperate I was, I couldn't make it five minutes.

But hey, it's too easy with fictional folks.

Re: Women with Fella Names

There's a natural progression of names going from being boys names to being girls names.

I discovered that when reading about names when naming my kids. My daughter's name, Lindsey, has gone through that progression. Beverly was once a man's name.

Some names go through a three-step process, from place name or last name to boys name to girls name. (Like Taylor for example.)

There's been some indication that James is about to make that switch, but it doesn't seem to have really picked up steam yet. I think Michael may also go that way.

You have to be a 14-year-old smackhead to name your daughter James King.

Former Star Trek alien/alienated spouse of a senatorial candidate (our president tips his hat to thee, Missus), Jeri Ryan.

And, completing the toothsome trifecta, model/"actress"/hibachi-joint heiress Devon Aoki.

I once went out with a girl named Sid. Sidonie was the full name IIRC
The kicker was she later hooked up with - and I think eventually married - a guy named Ray Caeser. If so it would make her Sid Caeser

Billie Holiday - although not a given name

Also in that same vein: Billie Burke aka Glinda 'The Good Witch' from the 'Wizard of Oz', and Billie (Mrs Hank) Aaron

And how did I leave out Billie Jean King in the above post?
And her brother - former SF Giant pitcher Randy Moffitt - sort of works in the other category.

Morgan is sort of in the middle. It's kind of a girly name on a man and a manly name on a maid.

Actress Christopher Norris, known for playing Gloria "Ripples" Mancusi, RN on Trapper John, MD.

Along with Michael Learned, she was part of the vanguard of actresses with manly monikers playing nurses in the eighties.
