Phythagorous denied

We now have a positive runs scored/given up ratio (OK it's only +1) and a 4-8 record A bunch of games we've just lacked the one key hit and/or didn't prevent them other guys from getting theirs, but today/night the breaks went our way. I know it doesn't make us NOT in last place at the moment, but it's a small bright light in an otherwise tough start - and something where having Beltran, Murphy, or a ready Reyes c/would have made a difference.

Beating a Dead Horse here, but a better manager might've turned those runs into wins too.

The trouble with hating the manager and the GM is you're always, in some small part of your psyche, rooting for your team to lose so you can be proved right.

4-7. that's a 4-7 record. Don't sell tonight short. Also, the positive runs scored thing is nice. Because our offense is slumping, and you _know_ Bay is going to be better, and Reyes is going to round into form. So if the pitching is true, which in Pelfrey's case definitely seems to be true. I'm so psyched for him, we're in for good times. Btw, if we massage the rotation properly (Santana on normal rest despite the off day) Pelfrey and Santana will both pitch against the Phillies. I hate the manager, and it's hard, but it's not quite like that. You're never actively routing for the manager, and even when he brings in the wrong guys or gives up outs, you're still routing for the guy he puts up there to succeed. It's much different though, for those that have decided they hate Oliver Perez and Luis Castillo. I do find myself struggling with the disgust/hope line though when guys like Jacobs come up sometimes though.

Sure they've had a tougher sked than us to this point, but they can't seem to beat the Rays, are -7 on their RS/RA scale, and have several high-priced hitters hitting under .200 (Papi, Drew) with several others just a bit above. IOW, it's still early folks.
