Actually, Cora not Castillo. incorrectly tweeted. Cora's played 33% of the games in the last nine (don't remember before that) that's too much, especially considering there was an off day in between them, and another one tomorrow. Cora should just flat out not be in there today, unless Castillo's been nursing something we don't know about.

I understand the B lineup/day game after night game type attitude. But there is a day off tomorrow and no reason for GMJ to be in there unless it's like a "Go 3/4 or you're cut" type deal.

The problem with Reyes's & Bay's fly outs is that they came in the wrong order. Bay's could have gotten a run in but there were already two out by that point. Reyes was the guy up with one out but his was far too shallow and with Bruce throwing and Blanco running the tag out would have been closer to 3rd than to home.

God, GameCast can be unnerving. You know the pitch is in play, because the ball turns blue -- then you have to wait. The Reds' "win percentage" dropped to 61%, so you know it's something good. Then the little ball flies out to deep right center, and only then do you know that whatever happened, the run is coming home.

At least we got the run in. It's quite frustrating to get the leadoff guy on and sacrifice him over, only to follow that with a hit that doesn't score the runner. Francoeur's SF saved Jerry there. Also frustrating that we gave up 2 outs, with the caught stealing, in that inning.

A good but flawed team made worse with bad managing. Anybody who plays that save-the-closer-on-the-road nonsense has to go a long way to otherwise earn my respect. But his general bullpen usage emating from such constructions has been absolute murder. Amazingly, Jerry didn't get to use Nieve today.
