Here's a list of the pitches that have been thrown over the years. Who is the past or present Met pitcher you most associate with those pitches (if any)? Fastball Curve ball Slider Sinker (or two seam fast ball) Split finger fast ball (or fork ball) Screw ball (not personality, type of pitch, but in some cases, could be the same person) Change up Knuckleball Spitball (yeah, I know) Please feel free to add any I might have missed. I know that it's an opinion thing, but I totally feel like I gave the wrong answer on "Screwball." (I'm just madly crushing on Tak2.)

Fastball Nolan Ryan Curve ball Doc Gooden Slider Turk Wendell Sinker (or two seam fast ball) Doug Sisk Split finger fast ball (or fork ball) Roger Craig Screw ball (not personality, type of pitch, but in some cases, could be the same person) Tug McGraw Change up Tom Glavine* Knuckleball I'm pulling a blank on this one Spitball (yeah, I know) No clue - Mike Scott supposedly mastered the spitter after leaving the Mets. *Okay, this is embarrassing. After reading other answers, I can't believe that I didn't think of Johan Santana for change up. The mind is a tricky thing sometimes.

Fastball - Gooden Curve ball - Gooden. Slider - Turk. Did he throw anything else? Sinker - John Hudek. Not really, Mike Pelfrey. Split finger fast ball - Ron Darling Screw ball - John Franco (is that what he threw??) Change up - Pedro Knuckleball - Springer was the guy, I guess. Any others? Spitball (yeah, I know) - I got nuttin What about a cutter? Leiter's the first dude that pops into my mushy brain. Rick Reed had a killer 2-seamer, too. That ball that would start on the outside to righties and somehow tail back on the black for a strike. Good. What did Paul Wilson throw?

Here's my list: Fastball - Nolan Ryan -"Von Ryan's Express" Curve ball - Doc Slider - David Cone - his "Laredo" pitch to righty batters was a sidearm slider Sinker (or two seam fast ball) - Pelfrey Split finger fast ball (or fork ball) - Roger Craig - he taught it to pitchers on other teams after he left the Mets - fucker Screw ball (not personality, type of pitch, but in some cases, could be the same person) _Tug fit both descriptions Change up - Santana Knuckleball - Tom Sturdivant Spitball (yeah, I know) - Well, McDowell was accused of having a tool belt to doctor the ball. So I'd guess he had something liquid in it. Another one: Gopher ball - Mark "Boom Boom" Bomback didn't get that nickname by accident. Other pitches I recall, but don't remember any Mets tossing them: Bat Shard Ball- Roger Clemens The "Cut the ball with your wedding ring" ball - Whitey Ford Later
