Mark Simon of ESPN New York previews the Pelfrey-Halladay matchup with a look at ace vs. ace duels through the Met years here (while acknowledging, "It's not Johan Santana vs. Roy Halladay.") I always find (Charlie) Manuel seems to rearrange his rotation in a way that always denies us the most entertaining matchups. And it always seems like Hamels finds a way to avoid pitching against us.

Credit where credit is due department: Adam Rubin is the featured writer on the ESPN NY Mets blog, but that article was written by ace researcher Mark Simon. He does a lot of great stuff for ESPN NY and Baseball Tonight.

A little fleshing out of this exciting topic in the wake of Santana and Gallardo almost exchanging complete games here.
