The loutish obnoxious abuses of rival fans is enough without having lame-o Met fans giving it back in kind, but the Daily News sponsoring it as some sort of gonzo experiment (or an attempt to pander to the blog-reading generaton?) is, like, superstupid.

They've been pulling dumbass stunts like this for awhile. To get away with it they send "news" reporters to do it, and they run them in the front sections as though they're human interest stories. It's all about polishing their populist outlook. "The most New York you can get," etc.
