Don't mess with my mojo, folks. We've got Johan Santana on the mound, a manager fighting for his life, and third place within reach.

Per Kevin Burkhardt, tonight's lineup and batting order for the Atlanta Braves:

Rod thrusts upward to stuff the six hole, per Adam Rubin.

well, per the New York Mets anyway, I don't know why the beat reporters still retweet the lineup.

Rubin's the fourth guy in my twitter feed with the lineup. And that's not counting the email directly from the Mets with it.

OK, you win. Anything more picayune to discuss?

I'm excited by the lineup.

So weird to see someone start two IGT's in a row.

bmfc1 May 18 2010 05:32 PM Re: IGT, 5/18, @ Atlanta |
The organist played "Proud Mary", by (among others) Ike & Tina Turner, when Ike Davis came up.

Johan does appear to have the good sauce tonight.

SOLID!

Swan Swan H May 18 2010 06:34 PM Re: IGT, 5/18, @ Atlanta |
Medlin gets Frenched! 2-2 at the tea interval.
|
LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr May 18 2010 06:51 PM Re: IGT, 5/18, @ Atlanta |
Same after 6. But Santana's at 97 tosses, with copious first-pitch swinging by the Flushingers keeping Medlen's pitch count in the temperate mid-70s.
|
Swan Swan H May 18 2010 07:02 PM Re: IGT, 5/18, @ Atlanta |
Medlin is yanked with two on, and Moylan throws the ol' vegemite ball and induces a 5-4-3 from Francoeur as the organist plays La Vie en Rose.
|
LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr May 18 2010 07:11 PM Re: IGT, 5/18, @ Atlanta |
7 pitch bottom of the inning for Santana, and 13 in a row retired.

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr May 18 2010 07:33 PM Re: IGT, 5/18, @ Atlanta |
Castillo beats out a grounder to Yunel Escobar by a half-step and scampers to second on a wild pitch. Chew on that, Country Time.

Waitwaitwait... Sargelet for Carter here?

PiggiesTomatoes May 18 2010 07:37 PM Re: IGT, 5/18, @ Atlanta |
I smell a strikeout (maybe a walk).

I guess Carter doesn't know how to bunt.

Nymr83 May 18 2010 07:44 PM Re: IGT, 5/18, @ Atlanta |
bunting a runner over for Wright isn't very smart when he's in the middle of a strikeout-filled slump
|
Kong76 May 18 2010 07:44 PM Re: IGT, 5/18, @ Atlanta |
I'm tired, screw not letting Carter bat and David can eat it.

BIFL!!!!
|
metsguyinmichigan May 18 2010 07:47 PM Re: IGT, 5/18, @ Atlanta |
Why bunt if Castillo is already on second and Wright unable to make contact??
|
LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr May 18 2010 07:48 PM Re: IGT, 5/18, @ Atlanta |
Bunting is for losers? Well, yes.
|
LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr May 18 2010 07:54 PM Re: IGT, 5/18, @ Atlanta |
They're kind enough to bunt.

bmfc1 May 18 2010 07:58 PM Re: IGT, 5/18, @ Atlanta |
If you told me that Mike Hessman was going to be called up and start over Wright tomorrow, I wouldn't mind. He couldn't get the run in when he was up in the top of the 9th and he gave the run away in the bottom.

metsguyinmichigan May 18 2010 08:03 PM Re: IGT, 5/18, @ Atlanta |
A man on second with none out and we can't get him home. And giving away one of the outs makes no sense. Let Carter swing. If he hits a fly Castillo can still tag to third. If he hits it on the ground, Csstillo doesn't have to go anywhere. If he Ks, then Castillo is still in scoring position.
