KNOW THINE WORLD CUP ENEMIES 2010

Hey, dammit, this tournament's about to start and there's 32 teams to preview. As a CPF homework assignment we can prolly get away with doing 1 or 2 each, the question is whether you'd like them randomly assigned to you or whether you'd prefer to choose which country you'd preview. I think the the idea in '06 was to pick one, preview it and sorta serve as its ambassador of hype and representative fan/apologist. I have no allegiances, even to USA, so I might prefer a random assignment, but first, let us know if you're in and what preferences if any you have on who and how to do it. I suppose we could also consider group previews if we don't get 32 volunteers.

I did some reading up on the Aussie team & even bought a bright yellow "Socceroos" shirt when I was there, so I volunteer to cover those boys. I'll take another at random team, too, if we're running short.

I'd say start one new 'Know Thy WCT' thread and put whatever pre-tourney scouting posts we get in there (first one done gets to start it). 32 separate threads would be a mess - although once the games get going we can certainly branch out.

Very disappointed Latvia didn't make it. I'll stay in Eastern Europe and take Slovakia. South Korea seems an obvious choice for me as well. I'll take Mexico to round out Group A.
