Hmmm, they're auditioning Shealy in advance of an off season Helton contract dum..., er,deal?
If they aren't, why bother to play him since Helton's deal still has six or seven years to run.
Or is this a Tim Harkness type of scam?

I did a google search on Anderson Hernandez to find something out. The
first link or so points a story with this headline:

Mets promote Hernandez for audition at second base

Dude must have hit on Willie's daughter at some luncheon or something
because he's in the dog house.

Valadius
Sep 29 2005 07:03 PM

Well, he still has yet to get a hit. Maybe that might be a cause?

KC
Sep 29 2005 07:13 PM

This ain't about hits, it's about getting him a taste of the bigs.

Valadius
Sep 29 2005 07:22 PM

We do still want to win games, don't we?

KC
Sep 29 2005 07:26 PM

For my taste, I'd rather see the four young infielders out there together at
Shea for a small stretch. Winning (for me) would be a wind fall.

(I have it in for Cairo)

Valadius
Sep 29 2005 07:37 PM

Cairo ruined everything again, as usual.

Well, with all the little head butting in-a-you-end-o aside - the Mets are
winning 4-0 through 4.

I saw a Floyd double and him later scoring on a WP for the first run.

Someone fill in the pieces.

Valadius
Sep 29 2005 08:28 PM

Ok... four runs score and nobody says anything?

Mets 4, Rockies 0.

KC
Sep 29 2005 08:29 PM

BTW, Glavine is on a mission and has struck out seven through five.

KC
Sep 29 2005 08:39 PM

Wright KABOOMS

Piazza KABOOMS, almost hit that god damn Keyspan sign.

Valadius
Sep 29 2005 08:40 PM

WRIGHT GOES KABOOM!!!!!!!!

#25 of the year, now with 99 RBI.

Mets lead 6-0.

BTW, Tom Glavine now has 101 K's on the year, 292 as a Met.

OlerudOwned
Sep 29 2005 08:42 PM

So far every mets except Carlos has a hit. Its the 5th inning. But Sunny Kim is still in there.

KC
Sep 29 2005 08:45 PM

I think I'll just shut up again.

Valadius
Sep 29 2005 08:48 PM

Mike passes the .46 home runs he was projected to hit over the last 4 games.

]I have it in for Cairo.

Who'd he hit on?

I'm thinking Anderson's going to pinch-run today.

I'm scared that by posting in this thread I'll jinx things. I don't believe in that crap, though.

Valadius
Sep 29 2005 09:04 PM

I'm surprised that Cliff Floyd only has hit 22 doubles this year.

KC
Sep 29 2005 09:12 PM

Cliff's double was his 22nd of the year, which kind of shocked me.

Valadius
Sep 29 2005 09:17 PM

That's what I just said.

KC
Sep 29 2005 09:19 PM

Wright KABOOMS again for number 100 rbi!!

Edgy DC
Sep 29 2005 09:20 PM

FXH on David Wright: "His cahnfidence coming off of this year should be sky-high."

Then the homer. Wow!

KC
Sep 29 2005 09:21 PM

Jacobs with a KABOOM - this is low graphics IGT.

Edgy DC

Empty the damn bench, Willie.

KC
Sep 29 2005 09:28 PM

If I were Randolph, I'd play some of the bench.

KC
Sep 29 2005 09:33 PM

Thread's been out of order from the get go.

Valadius
Sep 29 2005 09:35 PM

Notice where WWSB put Anderson Hernandez in the order. He's scheduled to bat 8th, in the leadoff spot, which means he might not see an at-bat tonight. WWSB REALLY doesn't like him.

Valadius
Sep 29 2005 09:36 PM

Popsicle is at the plate.

I wouldn't conclude that.

Edgy DC
Sep 29 2005 09:50 PM

Marlon, what the Hell was that about?

KC
Sep 29 2005 09:51 PM

Glavine with ten K's and one walk, and two outs in the ninth ....

Make that eleven ... Mets win!!!

Edgy DC
Sep 29 2005 09:52 PM

How 'bout not pinch-running for Piazza in the eighth?

Freaky.

Valadius
Sep 29 2005 09:52 PM

METS WIN!!!!!!!

GLAVINE WITH THE TWO-HITTER!!!!!!

Glavine only gave up two hits tonight!

Valadius
Sep 29 2005 09:54 PM

This is going to be a difficult night for Schaefer points.

Sep 29 2005 10:04 PM

I never thought I'd say this... but I'm actually looking forward to having Tom Glavine in the rotation in 2006.

I still haven't seen Hernandez bat yet so I would been oK had the Roxx scored 11 in the 9th. Maybe this weekend.

I don't think it's an issue of like.

Valadius
Sep 29 2005 10:26 PM

Oh, he's batted. Twelve times. He just hasn't gotten a hit.

I missed this game. How did the crowd treat Piazza after his HR? Curtain call?

Edgy DC
Sep 30 2005 11:16 AM

Extended demand for a curtain call. "Mi-kee! Mi-kee!!..."

He finally yielded for a moment about three or four pitches into Jacobs' at-bat, perhaps for Jacobs' sake.

His next at-bat was greeted by "One more year! (beat) One more year! (beat) One... !"

Minaya finally yielded and wrote him a contract. Right there on the field. You know, for Jacobs' sake.

Well, that's how it went down up until that last part.

Centerfield
Sep 30 2005 11:25 AM

Awesome. He deserves it. I think we should bring him back.
