What's your rooting interest in the Cardinals-Padres series?

Gotta go with the underdog, and I'm fairly certain that would be the Padres in this case.

I'll go with mild preference for the Padres, I really can't think of any reason to not like them, on the other hand I can think of a few reasons to dis-like St.Louis, LaRussa, Edmonds, best fans in the game bullshit...

I'm an underdog supporter. The Pads kind of remind me of the '73 Mets (except that was before I was born so I don't really remember) and it would be great if they could make a run. The Cardinals bore me.

I do not like the Cards, but I will be mildly pulling for them in this series just because I want the NL to send their best team to the WS, and that team is definately not the Pods regardless of what happens in a 5 game series.

That's a fair point 86, remember when the Padres played the MFY's in 98(?), they seemed happy to just be there, heck most of them made visits to monument park.

Don't really care for the Cards. At the same time, I tthink they have the better chance vs. an AL champion.

My 12-year-old is a Cardinals fan because he has always loved Mark McGwire. He's only a casual baseball fan, but he's been consistent about this. Thus, the Diamond-Knight household is rooting for the Cardinals.

Mild interest for the Padres and the ex-Met who pilots them.

A stronger interest is checked by the Cards' greater ability to beat Yankees. I also confess an appreciation that Tony LaRussa cut down his pitcher when he hit Piazza in the head.

I think it would be cool if the worst divisional winner beat the best divisional winner.

I, too, am torn.

It would be cool for the Padres to win. . . however, unless the Red Sox make it to the WS, I want the NL team to win. . .and the Cardinals have the best chance of doing so.

So I will say no preference.

I am just hoping for *gag* good games.

Cards. Pods would be a nice story but I like watching non-Yankee juggernaughts roll to victory.

I really don't think there's a chance in hell the Padres win this one, btw. Peavy gives them a puncher's chance in Game 1, but that team is pretty awful.

The Padres are frauds. I'd like to see the Cardinals cash in their make-good from last year just on principle. I don't much care for them, but I hate to see teams play as well as they have for two years and come away with nothing (unless they're the Braves or the Skanks).

A Petco-Fenway World Series would be the most aesthetically pleasing, however.

Don't really like the Cards, but the Pads just don't deserve to be there. Mild preference for the Cards.

I'm Mild Padres here, partially for the underdog factor, and partially because I'm still bitter over 1985 & 1987.

I honestly could care less. If either one wins, great, good for them. Win the damn pennant and come talk to me.

I like the old teams better.
