Says that the Yankees are playing a postseason game scheduled to start at 10 PM. That can't be right, 'cause the Yankees always get the prime 8 PM start.

There was a piece on the morning news about how "children were upset about the late starting time."

Michael Kaye was on the radio complaining that MFY-fan sugreons scheduled to perform open-heart surgery at 8 tommorrow morning may kill people as a result.

I remember in 1999, Games 1 and 2 of the NLDS, when the Mets were playing in Phoenix, both started at 10 p.m. I knew I wouldn't be able to watch the games and get through the day at work the next day, so I videotaped them and went to bed earlier than usual. I then woke up the next morning at 4:30 a.m. and watched the games, fast-forwarding through the commercials. When the game was over, I went to work.

Oh brother. Even if that happens, it's the doctor's responsibility, not MLB's.

Michael Kay's heartless disregard for the patients of surgeons who support other teams is troubling.

Please don't make me start ranting on "He Who Shall Not Be Named." He can go suck it. I wouldn't want to be operated on by anyone who was a MFY fan to begin with, and now this prick is getting all juiced because his beloved freaking Yankees don't have the prime time slot? Go to hell, Mikey. Believe it or not, there are other freaking teams in the major leagues, and HEY! Guess what! The Angels have fans too! And they work during the day! And the game's in their freaking ballpark, so you have to do what's best for them also? And why is the game in their ballpark? Because your beloved MFYs couldn't win enough games to get the game in their ballpark! Hey, Mike! Have fun watching Al Leiter walk the ballpark in a big spot this weekend, and have fun watching Aaron Small turn into Ed Whitson at the first sign of stress. Then I'm sure you'll all start bitching at Joe Torre for using a rookie in a big spot! Hey, Mike! Guess what? Your team isn't that good this year! Yes, you won the division, and that's a wonderful accomplishment! You beat a team with zero reliable arms, the East Coast Steroid All-Stars, a team whose second-best offensive player is Shea Hillenbrand, and the Devil Rays! Congratulations! Hey, Mike! STFU! And take Sterling and Susan with you! Sorry. I got started.

I was giving a good natured ribbing to a MFY fan I know at the supermarket (I walk into that place and no fewer than a half dozen people are ready to talk baseball with me - a mix of Mets, MFY and Phillies fans. It's sometimes hard to remember who roots for whom (although I know the Mets fans, of course)) about the fact that the MFY's won't have their G-d given right to prime time tonight. I reminded him about the 11 pm Mets/Arizona starts in 1999 (that's right Yancy - they started a 11 pm, not 10!), and he knew enough not to press his hardship too much with me.

I was in Minnesota, so it WAS 10:00 for me, but I didn't have cable, so I drove around listening to them on the radio.

It's amazing how smug Michael Kay is,I wonder if any Angel loving surgeons had to leave work early to make the 5:19 start time for the game yesterday, heck tonight they can work some OT and make the start time.

I watched the games. I remember thinking what a shame it was that so many kids were missing Fonzie's grand slam.

I remember Game 1 as a tag team. I went to bed with the tv on while D-Dad was watching in the living room. I woke up in the bottom of the 8th, with Turk pitching, saw that and then saw Fonzie's homer. I ran downstairs to celebrate with D-Dad. Then he went to bed while I watched the rest of the 9th downstairs.

These are the same folks who complained about FOXies wanting the Cubs in primetime in 2003, thereby moving the Yankees to a :GASP: afternoon weekday game!

My older son was born on 9/30/99. During those games in Arizona, I got up when he woke (he was still getting up every 2 hours) and took him downstairs to watch the game with me.

By the way, one of the first signs I can remember of MFY fans thinking they had a sense of "entitlement" or at least NYC did was the day of the first 2 stadium double header back in 2000.
