I was intrigued by the last paragraph in the article;

I saw him and got his autograph in a promotional edition of Tony & Me at the book fair at the Javits Center.

His voice is totally shot but he was very gracious. I was with someone (a Yankee fan) or I woulda stood around asking him his Metopinions (he wears a Mets cap on the cover of the book).
