Some of these are just alternate handles of regulars, but we seem to have an awful lot of people taking the time to come up with a handle and fill-in all the registration info and then saying nothing.

I spent a week waiting for MeenAnneLudwigWetze to post.

I'm over her now.

I'm most intrigued by "MeenAnneLudwigWetze"

And "Seattle Sue" of course, is my all-time favorite race horse.

MetIirsh , that's me, I spelled my user name wrong when I registered here, I was certain 86Dreamer has posted here.I'm pretty sure that seattle sue owns a board dedicated to the Mariners, I think I posted on it when I was researching them for a KTE.

Seattle Sue is a friend of mine.
She knows John Olerud personally through business ties. I guess her interest waned when John was no longer part of our family.
She told me a while ago that she still drops by every now and then, but doesn't feel she knows enough about the Mets to contribute.

She also told me the colors of the old board were hard on her eyes (something to do with her monitor settings). Don't know how eye-friendly the new place is, though.

That doesn't stop me. I'm not sure what that says about me, though.

When the Sox won the championship, I painted the pool background red for maybe two days.

When we sent our congratulations to the SoSH, they visited and complained about the color. Didn't know how we could stand it.

I don't think we can get more neutral than what we have now.

Oh, if you want KC, you can delete BeltranFan411.
I made that account because my PiazzaFan was wasn't working at the time.

86-Dreamer and 86Dreamer both exist on the board. One posts, one doesn't. I dunno, maybe it's time to get rid of inactive alternate names?

So do you suppose the newest 'Registered User' who has yet to post; [u:e7e618fd70]Ranjrz5[/u:e7e618fd70] is:

a) A fan of whoever's wearing #5 these days for the local NYC hockey team?

or

b) is it possible that 'Baseball Prospectus' writer and Chicago area dermatologist Rany Jazayerli has discovered our little corner of the internet world and is just dying to chime in with his thoughts on the Mets?

Edgy DC
Jan 22 2006 11:04 PM

Rany's Z would come before the L, though, and there's a few other consonants he didn't get in there.

I checked the Rangers' (sorry, Ranjrz') roster, though, and didn't spot a #5.

Usually when that happens and nothing big happens, it just means that someone is posting a link from a thread on another forum to make fun or start a discussion. That's my conspiracy theory.

You just got a bunch of gawkers following a link in from another website.

This morning when I was doing the backup there were like 60 guests in
the who's online panel all from the same IP address in Vancouver, BC.
They must be some kind of search engine spiders or something. It's kinda
spooky and fascinating.

KC
Apr 24 2006 09:27 AM

About thirty more of the spam bots or whatever they're called registered
over the weekend - I've deleted about fifty over the last month.

I don't know if it matters, but I guess it's best we not click on their ad links
in their profiles as a precautionary measure. Also, there seems to be some
kind of connection between these things and the old kcmets.com email a/c
which makes no sense to me whatsoever. Anyone have any ideas? They
seem to be able to do it despite the board being set to new users having to
be activated by an admin.

Anyways, I'll look into this this week as I settle back in.
