OEOE: Was wearing 23 at Buffalo, a number currently on the back of Chris Carter. Other uni drama will occur over whether senior Met Pedro Feliciano will be forced to don a P. at the start of his name. Either way, remember your J's and P's when filing your Schaefer ballots.

He wore 23 in the WBC too, so I imagine that's his "first choice" but Carter was here first. If Feliciano sticks and Carter doesn't. (doesn't seem likely ) i wonder if he'll switch.

Best game of the year? I say yes. I *love* the on-field hero interview with the walk-off producer with Kevin after the game. Nice to get to see the pie to the face (Pagan, with an assist from Niese). I was watching the ball more than the runner but my impression on Jose's homer that he wasn't busting it out of the box and should've been on third when the umps were checking the replay. I just checked when I got home and curiously SNY didn't show a replay of this. I would've been fine with putting Pelfrey out for the 10th but that's not a huge problem. What I couldn't understand was why -- after using Cora/Carter to move the pitcher to the 8 slot -- he wouldn't put Rodriguez back out for a second inning. Last time a Mets pitcher went a full 9 - was it Johan's shutout at the end of the '08 season?

That was top gangtaz , that really was great. Several tings I noticed watching the replays.....the sheer joy of Francoeur and Cora running up the steps, would love to know what they were saying to each other , the sheer joy of Reyes organizing the home plate slapping....at the end , around the 2:50 mark , is that Ed Coleman walking in the background looking like he's working security talking into a radio?
