I don't have a problem with that move. He's been playing a good 3B lately but Tatis has had fewer ABs than anyone who's been on the team the whole season and you need to keep guys like that in use if you expect them to be the best RH bat off the bench. Matusz is a highly touted prospect for the O's and, although he's had a tough time getting going so far, this is still the worst pitching match-up for us of the three games.

Reyes 2 fer 2 now (single) but gets picked off first in the 3rd. Comeonnn guy! A base is a terrible thing to waste.

Just about everyone in the park screwed up this half-inning - Jerry shouldn't have had Reyes bunting - Tejeda should have scored on Pagan's single - Wright hits into a perfect DP ball on the first pitch - but then Lugo screws up the relay and the Mets score anyway Just when you think there's nothing left to screw up, there's always Julio Lugo in reserve

Turned this on as Reyes was getting picked off. C'mon, man ... break for second and make them throw the ball at least instead of standing there looking dumb. Little things like that aggravate me.

Slappy was only hitting .241/.347/.277 himself, so i'll take my chances that Tejada can at least get to that level while providing better defense.

Is Francoeur hearing the footsteps [jogging, not yet allowed to be running] of Carlos Beltran and trying NOT to be supplanted by Pagan when Beltran gets back? competition based on superior merit rather than who stinks less would be nice around here! Well, right now he's about .080/.120 points below those first two and he has 2 XBHs to Castillo's 3 despit the AB differential of 6-1

But he's 20 y/o, has never been considered a 'can't miss' type of prospect, and is only up now because of an injury. Let him play everyday in the minors and hope he can take a job - either Castillo's or Cora's - next spring. and btw, just tonight he's both screwed up a running play and K'd on a ball that bounced about a foot in front of the plate

We listened to the last few innings on the way home from a family cookout tonight, and got home in time for the 9th. Nice to see them getting off of the road schneid, a trip to Baltimore helps.

Good times in Charm City tonight. The park was teeming with Mets fans. I'd venture a guess at least a 50-50 split between fans, with Mets fans the more vocal of the two factions. Couple of miscellaneous observations: Rod Barajas warming up with Henry Blanco before the game by throwing knuckleballs. Adam Jones of the Orioles is a *really* solid defensive player and reminded me of what it's like to watch Beltran patrol the outfield. Remembering the Francisco-meltdown the last time the Mets were at Camden, I was genuinely fearful when Wieters strolled up as a pinch hitter. Just got home after a brief stop here:

I was at the game too. Last-minute decision made after monitoring weather reports. My second time at Camden Yards, and the first time since 1992. (I think this is a personal record for longest interval between visits to a particular ballpark.) We slept over in a hotel 7 miles from the park, near BWI and breezed home this morning on the empty highways. As stated above, lotsa Mets fans at the game. I didn't see a great variety of food choices once you got off Eutaw Street and into the actual park. Just a lot of sausages, pizza, hot dogs, nachos, and funnel cake. There was a "deli" on the upper level, but all they sold was pizza, hot dogs, sausages, and nachos. So much for getting a corned beef on rye with a pickle. Where were the crabcakes? Did I somehow miss them?

I bought a suite at Petco for a game 2 years ago (Billy Wagner/Tony Clark game - ugh) and they called me like clockwork once each month from March to September last year. I've already heard from them three times so far this season.
