Nice REM salutes. Cleveland's a nice city. Took the son there a couple years ago. It's a good ballpark, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has the much-debated induction issues but is a fun place to visit nonetheless and there is among the most unusual presidential grave sites.

For what its' worth I got to meet and talk with Bob Feller in the 70's when he was doing Iowa Oaks TV and must say he was a class act and am proud to have met him. If people think he's cranky remember he comes from an era where half a days work meant 6-6. He doesn't suffer fools gladly and as far as WW2 goes I'm glad he was on our side.

I met Feller when he was autographing his autobiography at Macy's Herald Square some time in the early 90's. I agree - he may be gruff, but he's a class act. The game is tied thanks to some entertaining Indian misfielding. I'll take it.

In light of the recent ESPN umpire survey we need to send out a CB Bucknor alert. He has 1B tonight which means he'll have the plate tomorrow. Tonight, as Johan made the most obvious balk move in memory, the home & 2nd base umps were all over it immediately. Bucknor, the guy with theoretically the best view on that type of step-balk, never even flinched.

Geez we really came close to losing that game a few times. Sounded like strike 3 to the batter before Shelly was a close call too, or that meatbag woulda tied it. That you Reyes for ignoring that stop sign, and Bucknor for the call at first. One nice thing this year is we're not getting out-defenced most nights, this was one where that made a big difference.

Watched the latter half of this game while at Spa Castle with BetterHalfer and YoungerPooper (I had a neck thing today). The last couple of innings, I caught in the locker room, surrounded by nude fat men flopping in and out of the hot tubs. Between that and K-Rod, it was not the most relaxing of times.

We should probably take a similar view of Santana before we get too worried over not much. Prior to the last two games he was coming off a stretch where he allowed 3 ER in 36.2 IP. He was 1-0 in those 5 starts/ That he won a game where he was only so-so last night is as much payback than anything.
