Hi all!
Did this on the plane yesterday as a ":1/3 of the season's over" thing. Enjoy.

I like the rain machine idea. If only we had one in 2008...

Nice work JoePet. I like the idea of the dunking booth for Ollie. But I'd fill it with partially hardened concrete instead of water.

The best part, you could give Ollie a chance at retribution and know you have no chance of getting wet.

Actually, as a 7th inning attaction you could combine two.

Have a Jerry pick a fan to pitch and a fan to toss balls at the Ollies bullseye

This has to be better than a sausage or presidents race.

Oliver Perez is just wildly popular, isn't he?

Yeah. I guess the Mets are admirable for trying so hard to salvage something of Perez but I can't see a time where the fans/media will ever forgive him.

Nonetheless, the "Plug the Oil Leak with Ollie" yuks are not succeeding any more than Perez is.

#1 would hold my attention even if the changes were merely superficial.

"I have no idea to this day what those two ex-'86ers were singing about (mostly, because I don't believe in stats, outside of what someone's done in a particular week). Truth is, I don't want to know; some things are best left unsaid. I'd like to think they were singing about something so beautiful, it can't be expressed in words-- you just "get it" or you "don't get it." Something that makes your gut ache because you can't play through enough concussions and double-switch enough quick-and-short-swingers to achieve it again.

I tell you, those voices soared higher and farther than anybody pitching four out of five straight days in a gray, chop-shop-surrounded place dares to dream. It was like some beautiful bird, chock full of veteran presence, flapped into our drab little two-spot for the day (because he was playing second base, and the guy who normally does that bats there) and made those runners move over, and for the briefest of moments, every last man in Citi-Not-Shea felt free... to flap his arms around and point to the heavens, as if his shaky, three-out save had been divinely ordained."

"I guess I just miss my friend the eighth-inning guy."
