All-Time Walk-Off Celebration Team

You've just hit a walk-off home run. An absolute bomb that erased all doubt the minute it left the bat.

Rounding third, you see a mob of teammates ready to greet you at the plate. Who do you want there?

Metfairy mentioned Pedro, but I'll start with a current Met. A lot has happened over the years, but Jose Reyes is a guy I want in that pile.

Lenny Dykstra needs to be there.

GMJ, because I know he can't hit anything and hurt me.

Reyes is a good choice. I think I saw a clip of him shoving people out of the way so he could be front and center last night, and make an uppercut type motion like he was all set to knock Ike out. I think I recall in that celebrated picture from a couple of years ago with everyone waiting at the plate that Reyes was front and center too.

Bud Harrelson.
He was so slight that even if he jumped on my back, I doubt I would get hurt.

Ever the pragmatist.

PS - keep Frank Howard away from my pile-on.

The Law and Order Superbabes, Morganna the Kissing Bandit, and mark Kotsay's wife. Plus, Mr. Met.

Harrelson's too slight for fighting.

Just keep Todd Pratt away from me (at least until I touch home plate!).

Re: All-Time Walk-Off Celebration Team

We need an over-enthusiastic Gary Carter to give the sort of high-fives that sting for days.

But top of my list is Melvin Mora:

I like that list.

Ordonez was always out there first in his era.

Which suited Rey anyway as he had his arms up high from his last at-bat.

It's a lot easier to hide from child-support subpoenas in a crowd.

Give me Agbayani. He looks like a good hugger, and with no sharp edges to abrade, cut or bruise ya.

Also, Keith or Wally some'eres near the fringe, 'cause I'm probably going to want a smoke afterward.

The Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders would suffice.

Nope. I'd feel like I was in a plastic surgery post-op ward.

Keith hanging around in the dugout in the 11th inning, I think not....legs up in the lounge chair with a beer and a smoke in the players area....yes.

The first pic is the last game of the '99 regular season. I'd love to know what that second picture is. Must be the LCS no?

Wasn't the second pic from a game not along after Rocker made his comments....or down the stretch when the Mets nearly clawed the Braves lead back?

Re: All-Time Walk-Off Celebration Team

I think it's game four --- a double steal by Cedeņo and Mora sets up a two-run go-ahead eighth-inning single by Olerud.

It cuts the series lead to 3-1. Big whoop, right, but it felt like we had already pulled even.
