Thanks, peeps. Got away for some camping & surfing with the fam which made for a real nice first part of the day. Then the doc called and said my cat had gone backwards again and she didn't make it, poor girl. She was in a bad way this last week & a half and was really hurting yesterday. I'm sad, but almost relieved. Poor kit.

Thanks and thanks, everyone. The vet was such a sweetheart and she came across as wanting my cat to get better almost as much as I did. When my kit did die, the vet said she was heartbroken and also said it didn't sit right with her, because she'd seen a few signs making her think she could pull out of it. She suspected something with the heart and asked if she could give her an echo anyway and perform an autopsy (no charges for this stuff, obviously) to try and find out what happened. I told her, "of course", especially if it can help her or another cat and owner down the road, and she was grateful and said she'd try to knock some $$ off my sizable bill. I got her a thank you card for all her efforts. Bad outcome, but not for lack of caring or effort.
