With two on and running with one out, Dabidrye turns a nice DP on a Laird grounder (it always helps when it's the catcher) to wriggle Tak from a third-inning jam. But for seeeeerious, there will have to be some offense soon.

That friggin 2-0 pitch was the killer. After Coke missed with the first 2 pitches, Wright should have been zoning for an inside pitch he could drive and left anything else alone. If he lays off that pitch it's 3-0 and Coke's in a world of hurt.

You shrink your strike-zone in those situations. I didn't understand Keith's praise of that AB either.

That sucked a fuckin cock. Good to see they didn't roll over, down 6-1 and all, but they had boo coo chances there in the 7th and 8th and couldn't plate that last run.

The one positive I take out of this is that I expected them to come back tonight and am disappointed that they didn't. Very different attitude vs last year.

I really wanted to give Valverde the comeuppance he deserved. Nice to see them fight back but the failure to put a run across in the 7th (bases loaded) and then 8th was just killer.

And Tak may have been in for two batters too long. I can see what Jerry was hoping to achieve, but the game was on the line right there. Like Keith even said, he should know his team will fight back and he has to do the best to give them the chance. After the homer by Raburn was followed by a single, that should have been it. I would like to think that if we didn't take the first two games in this series thats the way he would have played it. Still, a great game for a loss, and we took the series. And we are neck and neck with the Braves. I'm extremely happy.

I felt exactly the same way. At 5-1 I really believed this game was not over. And it wasn't!
