Infield single by Pagan and a single to right by Wright and we have runners on the corners in the 1st.
One out.
Bay slaps a fly for the sac but OHHHH, Wrights out trying to make it to second.

Runner crossed the plate b4 the out tho.
We got lead.

Gotta pull that.
That would have been a wacky triple anyway.
I've never seen anything happen exactly like that before.

Reyes drives in Tejada with a double and takes 3rd on an errant throw.
And Pagan with the sac fly makes it 3-0 Mets.

Nice.

Re: Mo' Money, Mo' Fungo: PR IGT #2, 6/29

Could that have been called a triple?

Throw went to second behind Reyes and he was not stopping in any way.
Was a stupid throw, and the relay guys were set up for a throw to third....
Reyes was not gonna stop at second no matter where that throw was.

Well, maybe after he rounded the bag he would have put on the breaks.
I was very surprised no one was at 2nd and he was rounding the bag at full speed.

I'm curious.
Barajas got yesterday off cause Jerry said catching Dickey takes too much out of a catcher and he wanted him for todays game ( and he goes on to say Thole will catch tomorrow...).

Was Barajas handling Dickey the most? (Im serious, don't make that sentence a joke<)
Or was Blanco?

Nah, he wasn't the tying run.

Jerry played those last few innings very well IMO.
Even the double-switch which actually brought the pitcher's spot closer in the order - but it also improved the NYM defense, kept Ike in the game where Florida was out of LHPs, plus you were going to PH for the pitcher's spot no matter where it was and if you never got to the pitcher's spot it wasn't going to matter.
He even used Frankie in a non-save situation which is one of the things we've been bagging on him all year for not doing.

Just meant that my IGT record's been slightly more poor than... say... PedroDos's against righties (who OPS .780 agin' him this year, and .788 against him for his career, vs. .582 for lefties.)

He may be the best LOOGY-plus-- and one of the top-5 relievers, maybe-- this team's ever had. But he probably still shouldn't be pitching full innings in tight games against righty-exclusive lineups. (I mean, I really don't lurve the idea of throwing Igarashi up there, either, but...)

Jun 30 2010 09:57 AM
Re: Mo' Money, Mo' Fungo: PR IGT #2, 6/29

That was a game where having 3 catchers helped Jerry but having "only" 6 relievers hurt.

I didn;t have a big issue with how he used anyone, though. I was relieved actually to get K-rod out of there. Feliciano, like Taka (and Bay...), just failed to execute at the right moment.
