Quiz: The Dream of One More Bat

In these playoff-chasing seasons, name the batsman the Mets added for help in the second half. These players promised the illusion of deliverance (at least to some), and sometimes delivered (or helped deliver), but were more often forgotten by next spring. All came after June 1. 2007 would be Castillo and Conine. 1969 is Clendenon.

Hey! I got one! I remember McRae because he had a torrid streak that made everybody believe Steve Phillips was a genius. I also went to a game in Fenway during Brian's tenure that the Mets won 1-0 - McRae scored the run - on a Wakefield balk.
