Consider this your stream-of-consciousness, free-range National League East extra man. Taking into account N.L. East experience only. A few players graced (or were graced by) the orange and blue, but are not necessarily here by Metdom.

Moises was a pretty solid hitter during his career. He can probably still hit, provided he doesn't hurt himself picking up his bat.

Every time I have a chance to vote for Coco Laboy, my gut makes me do it.

I know this is not a Metly poll, but I cannot help myself.
Zeile, who in the Walternate universe, started the momentous events that led to the Mets winning the 2000 WS.

Here in our universe, one Timo away from Met immortality.

My knee-jerk reaction when told to "free-range" vote for an extra man was to vote for the guy with the extra finger.

But I've moved past that. Zeile plays multiple positions, and is a nice guy. My bench has enough firepower-- gimme the guy with whom I can kill dugout time by chatting about gastropubs-as-restaurant-trend or "Treme."

Just keep him away from your wife

Well, he'll be in the dugout. So that should help.

(Really? This is a thing? This is a commonly-known thing?)

I remember hearing that he was a predator of other players' wives. I'm sure some here can fill in the details better. If I recall, there were allegations of sexual assault/rape, but I may be mistaken (and hope that I am).

Halfway home and it's sometime-Mets Alou and Zeile, fighting it out from A to Z for the imaginary honor.

Re: All-Time National League East Team: The Extra Non-Met

A late and calculated switch (I'd originally voted for Willie Harris since our team does not have a National...but screw them) gives the Extra Non-Met (non-exclusive Met anyway) slot to Todd Zeile. Zeile will be valuable to N.L. East manager Bobby Cox as he can fill in at third, first and behind the plate. Remember Todd Zeile came up as an N.L. East catcher with the Cardinals and went out an N.L. East catcher, his very last game, with the Mets. Plus, he can pitch, should Seaver, Carlton, Maddux, et al really get into trouble.
