Where Do Mets Managers Go?

When they're done managing the Mets, not many continue to manage at the major league level. Only six of nineteen Met managers have ever gotten another MLB pilot gig, and five of those seemed very "who ya know" in nature. Examined here.

I tried to think, without peeking, who the six were. I got Berra, Johnson, and Torre easily.

I had got Westrum and Torborg pretty much by process of elimination, but never would have gotten Bamberger. (He was one of the ones I eliminated. I completely forgot about his post-Met fate.)

Sam here. I got Westrum easily because I'm currently reading Ryczek's Amazing Mets. I should write a post about that book in the What are You Reading thread. Ryczek wrote what might be the best Mets book ever (historical category).

Flogged that book on multiple occasions. It's fantastic. Every serious Mets fan should read it.
