So I woke up this morning thinking about Stevie Ray Vaughn, almost twenty years gone now.

So here's the deal. You're having a dream. In your dream, you're on a desert island. You're minding your own business, when Stevie Ray's helicopter crashes. He doesn't die this time, but he has time to do one song before the copter is fixed and it takes off again. In the dream, Double Trouble is there also.

What's your song? Obviously, I skewed toward the singles, but you may be a "Mary Had a Little Lamb" guy or something. So go crazy.

1) "Cold Shot"

4) "Superstition"

5) "Crossfire"

I'm a Mary's Little Lamb Guy.
I wish that Stevie didn't die.
Stevie's death was tough to swallow.
Now who will Mary's lil lamb follow?

The studio version rocks. Check out Cat People on Bowies' Let's Dance album.

"Pride & Joy" is my gut-reaction answer, but "The House Is Rockin'" was the song I played after a win when I was the PA guy for the basketball team at my last job, so I hesitated just for a second before I clicked "submit."

Good guitarist and singer, like Eric Clapton if Clapton weren't dead.

The blues aren't really my cup of meat most days.

Um, 'Little Sister'

I have this box set of Stevie.....

there are killer acoustic versions of Rude Mood and Testify .

Mary had a little Lamb would be my write in vote but I'll go with The Sky is Crying.

Gimme "Cold Shot," followed closely by "The Sky is Crying" and "Pride and Joy."

Write-ins are great. Don't cave to the tyrrany of the ballot.

Sorry not to include "Mary" and "Couldn't.""

Hey, Stevie! You're the best guitar player I've seen since Hendrix. I've got a helicopter you can fly out of here on. Nevermind that I was the last person to see Jimi alive.

Didn't his son die in NYC not long after that?

It doesn't take much to put it all together, does it?

Eric Clapton: Serial Killer

I'm suprised David Gilmour ever survived.

8) Stevie's instrumental take on Hendrix's "Little Wing" from The Sky is Crying. And it's not really close.

Re: Double Trouble Desert Island

I remember being pretty blown away by Double Trouble's first album...the live one that I'm too lazy to look up the name of right now.

SRV was also one of my favorite parts of Bowie's Let's Dance.

I'm not familiar with Stevie Ray Vaughn recording/releasing that. On what album does it appear?

Re: Double Trouble Desert Island

It doesn't. I saw him do it on the pier when Dr. Pepper was sponsoring concerts.

Recorded SRV..Pride & Joy.
