I loved watching that. Mets had no problem filling the stands, looks like most stayed though the odds were against our guys. You see the stadium staff celebrating with the team? Pretty feel goody. Mets weren't goin anywhere near the post season that year. Good times. Seriously. The clips after Hindu were very kool as well. Ty for this link.

You'll note Steve Albert awards Manufacturers Hanover Trust Player of the Game points -- 6 to Henderson, 2 to Taveras, 2 to Flynn.

Steve Albert is on fire there. Who's the guy that harasses Joe Pignatano to help him from the box seats down into the dugout? Is that Doubleday? Couldn't think of a better first game.
