I went back to November 2005 and wasn't able to find a thread for the first time he left, but have you any specific memories of the second tour?

Piece of shit, pretty much. Did have a home run, I think.

Val was very proud to have nickenamed him "Jake Monster".

His complete suckage got us Ike sooner than if he'd been his normal mediocre self. For that, I am thankful.

Yes, he did. It was against the Nationals at Citi Field during the Mets second home series of the season. (I remember because I was there; so far it's been my only Citi Field visit of 2010.) It was a blast that landed in the Pepsi Porch vicinity and it came in a game that the Mets were already well on their way to losing. (Santana gave up a grand slam in the first inning, and the game was really never competitive.)

I booed his triple-slashing at Citi Field, apparently.

Jacobs' last game was the 20-inning affair. He can always say he went out a winner of the longest victory in Mets history.

Probably isn't thinking that right now, however.

I remember the mighty wind he made.

Oh, how it made the sails billow, and the giveaway umbrellas groan!
