Which letter totally psyches you out when you draw it?
|
seawolf17 Jul 28 2010 12:55 PM Re: Scrabble Poll |
V.
|
Edgy DC Jul 28 2010 01:04 PM Re: Scrabble Poll |
V can be a weapon. though. If you play it, your opponent can't hook off it.

L, as in Little Loser Letter.

Despite all that V totally sucks. As does C which is worth one fewer point so I'm voting for that.

metsmarathon Jul 28 2010 01:07 PM Re: Scrabble Poll |
J flummoxes me. V's do too, but i always feel like i'm missing out on grand opportunities when i draw a J and typically just plop it down in front of an O.

I's and U's - because the Scrabble gods conspire to give me a minimum of 3/4 of them each game.

Six votes, six answers.

But only one correct one.

Q's are a pain. Yeah, they're ten-pointers, and the new sissified dictionary allows QI, but Q's are still an annoyance. Once you get past QI, QAT, and QANAT, there's not a lot you can do with a Q that doesn't require a U to go with it, and U's are rare.

In combination with Ns, Us do open the door to some funky little bingo possibilities, though.

then why does he kick them so often?

L is the most commonly doubled consonant in English - or at least according to Jake Gyllenhall's character in 'Zodiac' it is.
I drew 14 U's in one game. Kept throwing the out and they kept coming back. And, yeah, as soon as you throw them out the Q pops up to greet you. Then you play or toss the Q and back come the U's The only thing that keeps them from being as annoying as 'I' is that they're less numerous.

Not a fan of the letter G.

[quote="Frayed Knot"]Thing is, the past pattern of drawing them shouldn't affect the future chance of drawing more - but it did that day. |
Frayed Knot Jul 28 2010 05:30 PM Re: Scrabble Poll |
But they also increase the chances that the other guy gets one too but he never did.

Fman99 Jul 28 2010 07:26 PM Re: Scrabble Poll |
I hate the V, ironically the most cunt-shaped of all the letters.
|
Frayed Knot Jul 28 2010 08:34 PM Re: Scrabble Poll |
V is def the least favorite consonant.

I hate to draw a blank, but it's one of the realities of getting older, alas.
