Re: Pat Misch

Jerry's apparently been convinced that his scoreless inning tonight has proven beyond any doubt that Takahashi should get any and all 8th inning assignments from this point forward, with a lead or without, with days off or not, until he falters at which point he'll join Oliver Perez on the Island of Misfit Toys and Jeff Francouer will be installed as the New 8th inning Stopper.

Re: Pat Misch

Besides finding a spot for Misch, they have to make a decision about Sean Green who is at the end of his rehab assignment (but has one option left). Hopefully this will force them to get rid of Perez.

Every word here bleeds more truth than a dying angel.

Welcome to Hell, Hisanori.

Re: Pat Misch

They've given up, so why not just start Ollie and be done with it?

Re: Pat Misch

Not a big Misch fan but why the hell not.. If Bay is done for the year how about more AB's for Carter & Evans.

You know? Francoeur does have a helluva arm, and he already hits like a pitcher. I say go for it.

Yeah, I was obviously making a joke there, but then... Hmmmm...

Re: Pat Misch

Hey, while we're "jokingly" spinning the wheels, would it kill anyone if Jerry got his Davey on?

1) Spent a whole bunch of practice time working guys like Parnell and Dessens at first base.

2) Get Ike-- former sometime Arizona State pitcher, with decent control and a low-to-mid-90s fastball-- some throwing time.

3) Profit from Instant Temp LOOGY! (Feliciano freed for any situation under the sun that comes up before that, and Valdes is free for any situation that you'd use a righty swingman, since his split stats favor matchups with righties, a fact that seems to have escaped both our manager and pitching coach for the entirety of the season thus far. Whew. Sorry... that turned into something else, there.)

A Misch is as good as a simile.

Re: Pat Misch

This is why baseball would be more fun if they had rosters of 16 guys or so.

Re: Pat Misch

Misch made the IL All-Star team this year.
His overall record has been good, including his last start.
But a few of his starts before that were bad-Pelfreyesque.

It will be interesting to see if he is Misch-matched against major league hitters this time around.
