Tatis as I recall hasn't been much good for a long while, I think he's being harsh on Nieve, Manuel had him burned out by the time he got a start....

This is just dumb shit The Mets promoted Jenrry Mejia, stunting his growth, because they worship at the altar of the 8th inning man. But apparently not enough to hold on to O’Day, Lindstrom, or Bell. Some of these guys have been gone years

Some good stuff in there ..... what about this? The Mets, bereft of roster depth, sold their rule 5 pick, Carlos Monasterios, to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Some of these guys have been gone years don't underestimate the ability of a fan to hold a grudge. After all, many Mets fans are descended from former Brooklyn Dodger fans who used the word "O'Malley" like an epithet.

Oh, goodness, this is awful. 4. The combined 820 at bats given to Louis Castillo, Alex Cora, Jeff Francoeur, Gary Matthews Jr., Frank Catalanotto, and Mike Jacobs. This was after the Mets identified the bench as something that needed to be upgraded. At least most of these guys are gone. Total cost of those at bats? Just under 14 million. Who the hell is Louis Castillo? Luis Castillo has 247 of those ABs, but his replacement, wunderkind Tejada, hasn't had a hit since high school. (Which, admittedly, he only graduated from in June.) 5. The amount of at bats Fernando Tatis, an above average MLB reserve, lost to those guys listed above before getting hurt. 65. Ironically enough, just about the same number of ABs the 1986 Mets gave to Kevin Elster and Stan Jefferson. 7. 17 starts of 6 plus ERA baseball given to John Maine, Oliver Perez, and Fernando Nieve. Maine and Perez were guaranteed rotation spots this season, and Nieve was given a shot to compete for the fifth spot, and then expected to be a major bullpen contributor. And when they weren't, they got other people to fill those roles. 10. Louis Castillo has 6 million on his contract. 11. Credit to @willdavidian – Will Louis Castillo be the Mets second baseman next season? Will the sun come up tomorrow? Who the hell is Louis Castillo? 12. A bullpen where Elmer Dessens is the 8th inning guy Dessens has pitched 11 1/3 innings in the 8th, with a 0.80 ERA and a .531 OPS against. It's been his most effective inning. 13. Raul Valdes “on loan from the Mexican League,” in the media capital of the world. Like the time he came on no rest to throw five innings in relief of John Maine and got a big W. How dare he? 14. Darren O’Day pitching in Texas in October. Hasn't happened yet. 15. Matt Lindstrom pitching in Houston. The Mets will re-acquire him for another minor league talent they undervalue. Has no idea where his pitches are going when they leave his hand, AND he's hurt now anyway. 19. The sad reality that all of them could have been parts of a top flight bullpen in New York, but no, we’ve got Elmer Dessens and Raul Valdes, “on loan from the Mexican League.” Used this one already, dude. 20. Raul Valdes “on loan from the Mexican League,” is the only Met with an OPS over 1. Wait, I thought we hated Raul Valdes? By the way... number of major league players with an OPS over 1.000? THREE. Miguel Cabrera, Josh Hamilton, Joey Votto. 36. The continued refusal to go over slot for draft picks, in pursuit of an All Star game, or the opportunity to spoon with Bud Selig. I’m not entirely sure. I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about here either, so don't worry. 35. There’s no new spending in sight, but if there were, it’d probably be more of the catastrophic type we’ve grown accustomed to. 37. Instead of spending, management keeps blaming the core. Wait. They're supposed to spend, or they're not supposed to spend? Make up your mind. 42. Management alienates core players like Carlos Beltran in the interest of perpetuating their dog and pony show and selling tickets to meaningless games, future be damned. Say whaa? 43. The Mets might trade Carlos Beltran in the off-season, and they wasted his prime with sub-par outfielders alongside him. Like Gary Sheffield (118 OPS+) and Francoeur (120 OPS+) in 2009, Tatis (123 OPS+) Church (106 OPS+) and Murphy (129 OPS+) in 2008, Moises Alou (137 OPS+) and Shawn Green (103 OPS+) in 2007, Xavier Nady (107 OPS+) and Endy Chavez (103 OPS+) in 2006? Ah, Cliff Floyd only had an 88 OPS+ that year. That's what he's talking about. 46. The Mets can’t get value for Beltran otherwise, because Omar Minaya gave away the ability to offer arbitration at the negotiating table. Cot's Contracts says the Mets have already worked it into the contract that they can't offer him arbitration after 2011. 62. the Mets are still paying Bobby Bonilla. Which, it's already been shown, was probably a shrewd financial decision at the time. Get over it. 63. That poor miserable Pit Bull in Mets gear outside of the promenade on hot days. Paying a lot of money for Francisco Rodriguez and then failing to use him in high leverage situations. He's been the best reliever on the team all year. What's your point? 71. That’s just baseball. What is that supposed to mean? 72. Putting Nick Evans at AA and giving a AAA roster spot to Mike Jacobs. Dude got 24 ABs before getting cut. How many more games would they have won with Nick Evans getting those 24 ABs? 82. The fact that this whole situation probably could have been avoided if we had a manger capable of understanding the term “high-leverage situation.” Used this one already too, dude. 83. Speaking of which, a bullpen featuring Manny Acosta and a manager who believes that he’s a viable 8th inning option. How many eighth innings has Acosta pitched in? Nine. And Acosta -- a former closer -- has a 120 ERA+ in his 21 2/3 innings as a Met this year. 87. Mike Sielski on Rod Barajas. 88. Mike Sielski on Jeff Francoeur. 89. Mike Sielski in general. Is Mike Sielski f’ing kidding me with this tripe? Who the hell is Mike Sielski? 93. The mid-season speculation about where Angel Pagan would play when Carlos Beltran returned, mostly from the booth and press corps. Are you upset at what the team is doing, or are you upset about what a bunch of talking heads are radio guys think they may or may not be thinking about doing? 96. The youth movement vs. Jerry Manuel’s “Save My Job Drive” month of August. I thought we weren't supposed to rush the young players? I don't get it. What a doosh.

That's some work there. Post it to his responses. Those multiple mis-spelling of Luis as "Louis Castillo" was something. The league, I estimate, is comprise 35% of players from the the Spanish-speaking world. There have been by my count 64 Luises in MLB history, including three Luis Lopezes. Castillo has been on the team four years now. There aren't too many excuses for that.

What disturbs James is "Mongo fans who have bought into the koolaid." Those words are usually applied to the MFY's. Does this blogger get paid for writing this stuff?
