Hmm, guess the Mets weren't just bumbling idiots unable to manager a roster by bringing Rod up. Imagine that?

These two things don't really have anything to do with each other.
The Mets HAD to re-activate Barajas as his injury rehab time was up.
That he was put on waivers, claimed, and then et go on the claim is a separate issue.

What it does signal is that they're much closer to being sold on Thole.

Re: Farewell Rod

Who wouldn't be sold on a catcher that hits like Darrell Porter?

Re: Farewell Rod

...joining to the Dodgers fulfills a childhood dream. He was born and grew up about a 20-minute drive from Dodgers Stadium, so sad though he is to leave the Mets, he lands in a welcome environment.

“It’s tough to leave,” he said. “But it’s a good spot for me. That’s my team. That’s the team I grew up watching. It was a childhood dream to play for the Dodgers.”

Kool beans for Throbarjas.

Vin Scully was so jazzed about the Barajas pick up that he re-upped for another year in the announcing booth.
