I don't want a TV in the bedroom because I also want Wifey Bucket to visit sometimes.

Yes, but the bedroom is also where the air conditioner is...so we really only use it in the summer.

Re: Do you have a TV in your bedroom?

Not since I lived in an apartment, 2000-2002. Our last two houses didn't have coax run to the bedroom and I don't really miss it.

Fwife, however, would probably appreciate it as she is quite regularly falling asleep downstairs watching TV. She's there right now, in fact. But I don't want it up there.

That room is for magic. And noises. And incidentally sleeping when Fgirl isn't going all Bon Scott on me.

TV is for background when the future in-laws are around.

No, but we leave it on-- okay, I leave it on-- a timer as we pass out for the night.

Re: Do you have a TV in your bedroom?

I did, but then it died and I didn't miss really it so I never replaced it.
As it was I only used it for the occasional late night Letterman or early morning weather.
But the fact that it was there would sometimes lead me to channel surfing and stopping on stupid shows and infomercials that I'm better off avoiding.

Re: Do you have a TV in your bedroom?

Yes. (i recommend you skip my ramblings and go right to the end statement which also says yes and wraps it)

I'd have to say that I view stuff that I really wanna seriously watch distraction free on the bedroom TV.
DVD movies, TV shows that I record or buy on DVD...pretty much all recorded stuff.
Which is more than 50% of what I view on a TV.

I only follow a few TV shows, and many times I end up seeing these after they air, even if on the same night. I'll usually watch these from bed right before I crash.

Shows like The Daily Show (which I'm sitting here watching now) and The Colbert Report I'll watch on the TV right here in the computer room. I'm just getting into Rubicon, and I watched those when they aired to check out the series. Now that I am into it, odds are good I'll watch future episodes in accordance with my viewing habits.

Thinking back on my entire life, there were very few times I did not have a TV in my bedroom.
When I was very young ( got a small TV in my room during my later teen years) and when I lived with a girl who did not like having a TV in the bedroom. The former instance we had a nice TV room kinda theater deal, and did not watch as nearly as much recorded stuff as I do today. And we fell asleep watchin TV in that room more than not, lol, and would have to get up at some point and go to bed.

I actually prefer the theater room set up, but these days that kinda room is used as the PC/TV/treadmill room.

gah, too much information, I know, lol.

Yes, I have a TV in my bedroom.

Re: Do you have a TV in your bedroom?

I never have. My parents had one in their room when I was a kid. It was always our second television; if my sisters and I couldn't agree on what to watch, one of us would head upstairs and watch that TV.

When I first had my own place, I lived alone and never considered getting a second TV. Now, with my kids, TV conflicts are rare since we can record stuff and watch it later anyway. And we have three TV's downstairs. Also, I've read many times that it's a very bad idea to let kids have a TV in their rooms, so I figured it was best for nobody to have a TV in their rooms. I think if I did have one up there, I doubt that it would get much use at all. I do most of my idle TV-watching in the kitchen. Usually a TiVoed Letterman while I'm making dinner.

Re: Do you have a TV in your bedroom?

Not in our room, not in my kid's rooms either.

Have had one at various times but not for a while.

What never happens in my house and I can't stand it when I'm at someone else's house is having the TV on with no one watching it as background noise.

Re: Do you have a TV in your bedroom?

When I find a noisy TV that's being unwatched I always immediately turn it off. And that often causes the kids to immediately become reattached to the program that they had been ignoring, and then the TV goes right back on.

Re: Do you have a TV in your bedroom?

Come on, baby. You know that sucker is me.

Coming out of the movie theater this weekend, I saw the pub next door playing the Mets Phillies game and somehow my wife saw in my eyes that I needed to go in. French fries and hi-def Mets.

I'm afraid if I got a TV today, I'd be a drooling idiot within hours, and unemployable within a week.
