I just read that 15 per cent of Americans have interrupted sex to answer the phone.

Re: How important is that phone call?

Does it count if I didn't make the call to abort?

I'm usually done by the third ring, so no problem.

No, if you were with a lady of the night I could see this being OK but hardly the thing to do with a steady line.

Re: How important is that phone call?

I rarely answer the phone even if I'm doing nothing.
I'm always afraid that if I do someone else is going to be on the other end.

Re: How important is that phone call?

I took yes.,Why make wifey suspicious if she expects you to
be available for calls and trouble her with voice mail? That
would be rude.

Re: How important is that phone call?

I wonder if early-stage foreplay counts (in which case I'd still vote no) or if this actually means decoupling at the sound of a ringing phone which, to me, is unthinkable.

Re: How important is that phone call?

When I first got married, I was still available for an emergency call-back to the Army.
Didn't have an answering machine then, so I had to answer the phone.
Not since I got one.

Re: How important is that phone call?

If you _do_ answer, who would be the most awkward for it to be on the other end? Your mother? David Wright? Fran Drescher?

I'd say no.

I should withdraw my "yes" then.

I wouldn't, were it exclusively my call. But my lassie would and-- IIRC, and I'm not thinking of a LWOtherPartner-- has done so. So... it's still kind of a de facto "yes," innit?
