Injured? Uninjured? What up?

I'm really baffled by the persistence of Operation Tejada and now he's got a new position to fill.

Re: Reyes

That oblique is barking right? As for Tejada, a change is as good as a rest, maybe he'll start hitting.

He will not resume baseball activities until he is completely pain free. Sounds like spring to me.

Do the Mets pick up the 11 million dollar option for 2011???

Re: Reyes

I think he's due that next year Ashie as the last year of that deal.

Re: Reyes

Reyes has an $11M team option or a buyout. As he missed most of last year, he's not even a Type B right now, so there'd be no compensation if the Mets let him go. There are a few factors to weigh concerning him, not the least of which is that he's still young and has upside. But I do think that $11M is a bit more than he's currently worth.

Re: Reyes

I'll be shocked if they don't either pick it up or use it as a starting point to negotiate a longer term deal this winter.

As for the more immediate future, I ain't heard nuthin'.

I haven't yet heard whether he can bat from the other side yet. Hmm. I hear they're considering having him play RF because it shouldn't hurt as much as SS in the interim.

Re: Reyes

I guess I have to root for Operation Tejada to fail. If it suceeds the Wilpons might cheapen up to a Tejada/Keppinger middle.

I thought you were advocating for the replacement of Reyes with Tejada?

I'm with FK on this one.

Back in 2005 I envisioned a string of playoff appearances revolving around Reyes and Wright.
I know some opportunities have been wasted, and we should have had a string, but I still think this dream can come true.
I personally would not want anyone else playing short and third for the Mets over the next 3 years.
Yea, I'm a dreamer, read my sig.

I have seen Ruben Tejada, and he is no Jose Reyes.

I am more of the mind to use Tejada at 2B if anything.
