Of course he went 0 for 7 if he was using a glove instead of a bat.

Is the display case actually shaped like a middle finger, or is that message left implicit?

Obviously, they didn't have that on display when we went this winter. But in the current-year "locker room" exhibit they did have a video loop of the previous year's highlights stuck on the Castillo one-handed drop.

I can't think of any other job in the world I'd have that my current skill set is likely to allow me to perform.

batting gloves ....

The Hall has requested several items this season from around the majors. They have the spikes Dallas Braden wore during his perfect game, the cap Roy Halladay wore for his perfecto, the bat Jason Kubel used to hit the first home run at Target Field, the cap Mike Leake wore in his major league debut, the cap Ubaldo Jimenez wore for his no-hitter and the batting gloves Jose Reyes wore in the 20-inning game between the Mets and Cardinals.

Gloves that gripped the bat that was swung for the sacrifice fly that brought home the go-ahead run, but yeah. Why not just ask Tony La Russa for a piece of the gall he showed in using two position players to pitch when he still had actual pitchers available?
