We need to take this series and reduce our Fourth Place magic number, which currently stands at 16.

That's about as close to an alpha-lineup as we have. Maybe Arias over Tejada, except Tejada has actually been hitting this week. Jerry finally is giving Zippity Duda a view from the bench.

This is the last weekday-gay-dame-business-person's special of 2010 IIRC.

Duda's AB's for the rest of the year may be zippity-Duda

He cannot hit a curveball to save his life.

And just because..

Ridiculously Awesome follow's Gee's lead and picks up a hit of his own before giving up one.

How did Buffalo not go undefeated early this season?

Thrown out on the basepaths and come out shakey. I see it every day in my line of work.

Figuratively.

Anyhow, Wilson Ramos? Danny Espinosa? It's like we're being beaten by fictional ballplayers here.

They've exceeded Potsie Weber's strikeout total from 1977, I can tell you that.

I'd like to thank Jerry for somehow convincing Ian Desmond to waste his first two strikes bunting there.

One out. Who do you go after? Zimmerman or Dunn?

Nope, Morse is up, after looking back at the dugout to see if they were pinch-hitting Harris.

Dibble would love that.

Three outs!

There was a guy at last night's game with an official "Evans 6" home, pinstriped jersey (with the inaugural patch). 2d Spitter and I wondered why anybody would have such a jersey unless your last name is Evans and/or your related to Nick Evans.

For the first time this season, the Mets have won the rubber game of an away series. It also marks the first time this year that the Mets have done this on the road.

Or, it's a game-used jersey, which is really cool.

I have a number of fun game-used Mets jerseys -- mostly BP jerseys, which is about the limit of which I can afford.

My Barry Lyons pull-over from the early 90s is classic!

Problem was that with the Dunn shift on (even the modified one used when men are on base) Nyjer froze briefly thinking that the liner tin front of the RFer might also be right at the 2Bman. Shouldn't have, but he did. Morgan, for all his speed, isn't a very good base-runner; I've seen it a lot this summer.

Evans couldn't possibly have looked worse on every pitch during his AB - including the one he got the hit on. Nothing but 92 mph fastballs and he was getting beat on every one of them. The hit was the only one he managed to get on the far side of the 1st base dugout and most 1Bmen not named Dunn scoop that one up without a sweat.
Some players have their first season be their best. I'm starting to think that Evans might wind up his career with his first game as his best.

Who plays a weekday matinee on a Wednesday?

Turned the game on and was confused by all of the sunshine. Though I'll admit to enjoying the encore broadcast on SNY without the three hours of staring at their dumb ticker along the bottom of the screen. They should shelve that shit for 28 minutes out of 30 instead of running it non-stop for 3 hours at a pop.

Oh yeah, LGM, YGB, YYYBBB.
