Last time we see Bobby C. and, presumably, Billy W. So let's give them something to remember.

Ankiel might want to re-think wearing his velcro uniform as it didn't do him any favors on that would-be triple.

That said, Dickey's not going to get away with these leadoff hits/walks forever. He's dodged a bunch of bullets so far.

Dicky done after allowing back to back singles to start off the 7th.

Can Feliciano get out of this?
Pedro does his job and gets two out

Bases now all Braved up.
It's all on Acosta.

on edit:oh, btw, tied 2-2

second tier in left?

lol. At least he didn't walk him.

Lee clears the bases with a granny.

I am conditioned to accept grand slams against us as routine.
I keep the game on.

Mark Reynolds of the Diamondbacks hit one (or two?) up there last year.

Mixing and matching is sometimes OK but Acosta's doing better against lefties than righties so this didn't make sense. Jerry can't be gone fast enough.

Can we agree that if the Braves get rid of a guy, we don't want him?

I agree with Jerry that I wouldn't want Pedro in there against a RHB.
The problem, for the millionth time, is the over-designated "roles" which somehow prevent him from bringing in someone like Parnell because he's being 'saved' for his 8th inning role - as if it's a sure bet that that spot will be way more important than a bases-loaded situation in the 7th.

And is it just my imagination or have all the GSs we've given up this year all come with two outs?

Re: IGT 9/19/10 ATL @ NYM: One Last Cox Punch

Just asking: do you PH for Thole against a lefty and bring in Hessman since you're down 4 and the game is meaningful for the opponent... or do you leave Thole in because the game doesn't mean anything in the long-term for the Mets and you want to see what Thole can do against a LHP?

I wanna see what Thole can do every at bat. I love watching him hit. Lets face it. Our agenda now is to take a look at what we have and have not.

I don't think I PH Hessman for Thole in any situation except maybe one where a HR wins the game and it's your last AB. But in the 7th with 2 on and none out you just want to keep the conga line moving and Thole's much better at that than Hessman. So the meaningful/not thing doesn't enter into it here. Save Hessman for later.

And Carter Ks to get it over with.

The Mets can't even throw a monkey wrench in the Braves post season possiblities.

Man, even with all we have gone through the last few years I don't think any season in recent memory has bummed me out more than this one.

Not all, but 8 of the 12
3 came with 1 out and 1 was hit with no outs.

I said this in another thread a few weeks back but, even with all the other problems we've had this year, if we were just normal in bases-loaded situations (on both sides of the ball) it would probably mean about 5 games in the standings. Not enough to make a real difference, but significant.

... and I don't want to tell you how many 2-out 3R HRs I came by while looking this stuff up.

Re: IGT 9/19/10 ATL @ NYM: One Last Cox Punch

I dunno why this season is buggin me so much. Its not like I haven't followed bad Met teams before. And coming out of the gate I thought we pretty much were a .500 team.

Maybe it was the hope I felt before the all star break when we were playing so well. There was a time when I really thought we were contenders.

The most disappointing thing to me is that I don't think the front office ever really considered us that. Looks like they had a mindset that said :well, if they can go somewhere with this squad great, because we are not going to be giving them any help.

And they didn't.

Holy shitazoid!

Tuned in to the Phils game in the 9th.
They were down 6-3.
And I'll be damned they come back and win.
A Werth walkoff.

I should not be pissed off about this. I will be rooting for these guys to go all the way.

[quote="John Cougar Lunchbucket":2rbhva57]They took Jeff Francoeur off his hands then bent over when they had a chance to ruin his season.[/quote:2rbhva57]

Two teams have traded Jeff Francoeur, and one has an excellent chance of making the playoffs.

Two teams have acquired Jeff Francoeur, and one is all but guaranteed of being in the playoffs.

If there's a boat to miss, the Mets will find it -- and miss it.
