Triple Crown Watch

Just the simple fact that there are three of them in this race makes it even more unlikely than usual that any one will walk away with all three categories. After all, there's a reason no one in baseball has done this in 42 years or in the NL in 73. But it'll be fun to watch down the stretch anyway.

Gee, I don't even know who Carlos Gonzalez is, he's to far ahead in AVG to get caught int that.

Pujols has quite a lead in HR's but it is interesting.

Me neither. I can't believe I've reached a point where I guy I never heard of is being talked about for an NL Triple Crown.

Gonzalez is quite the comer --- a Padre who gave only hints of this in his first two seasons.

OT: but a guy coming out of nowhere is Casey McGehee

In fact, you've even got his team wrong. He's a Rockie. Traded from AZ to Oakland for Haren, then Oakland to Colorado for Holliday.

I'm not sure what I'm typing anymore. I think one thing and another comes out my fingers.

Only after he gets traded to Minnesota

Ashie62 Sep 13 2010 10:09 PM Re: Triple Crown Watch |
I wish I would get traded to Minnesota.

There have been several references to a Minnesota/ Mormon connection here over the last few days. What started it? ( newspaper/ internet story that somebody posted? A CPF-er comment?) Please provide a link. Thanks, Later

It's a joke at my own expense. Mormons don't tend to come from Minnesota, as I accidentally suggested in another thread, so much as Lutherans do. You're not missing much.

He's been a pretty highly-touted prospect (like, top 20 in the BA rankings) for a few years now. Odd that he's moved twice... but there are worse players to have on the other side of your personal trade ledger than Haren and Holliday.

yeah, he's been on my fantasy league's minor league roster for a while. big time prospect breaking out this year.

Given the torrid finish by Troy Tolowitzki, I wonder if any of these three win the MVP? I suppose Votto has the best claim, and Gonzalez will probably steal some votes from Tulo (and vice versa).
|
Gwreck Sep 27 2010 10:00 AM Re: Triple Crown Watch |
I would only consider giving Tulowitzki a first place vote if his team actually makes the playoffs. Votto seems a pretty clear choice to me.

We're only talking triple crown here.
|
Edgy DC Sep 27 2010 10:28 AM Re: Triple Crown Watch |
Several? I doubt that.

Gwreck Sep 27 2010 12:24 PM Re: Triple Crown Watch |

I don't think any pitchers in the NL are deserving of first-place MVP votes. Which ones are you thinking of?
|
Benjamin Grimm Sep 27 2010 12:32 PM Re: Triple Crown Watch |
I'd vote for Frankie Rodriguez as Most Volatile Player.

"I politely but firmly take issue with that vote, and ask you to consider other options."
