A-Rod Calling the Shots?

I heard this on one of my brief listens to Michael Kay on my drive home.

This took place on Friday when he hit the game-winning home run against the Orioles. Supposedly, the first pitch was a ball just off the plate called a strike, and was supposedly called a strike all day. A-Rod stepped out and said something to the ump (as relayed to Kay) along the lines of "Hey man, this is a big spot, you can't be calling me out on a pitch that's not on the plate." and supposedly the umpire replied in the affirmative. later in the AB, same pitch, called a ball instead of strike three. next pitch, game-winning homer.

I'm suggesting that if I was looking for a conspiracy afoot, that's where I'd look next.

It looked to the whole stadium and everyone watching on TV that he was struck out looking on the previous pitch and gave that smug blue-lipped smile, trying to convince himself and us that the reason he wasn;t punched out was not because of a shitty call, but because he was more talented than the rest of us. Then Uhera gorooved one.

I hate that bluelipped trannyfucker.

Looks like he's gone from taking shots to calling them.

It's just like my old Army sargeant used to say: you can't trust a damn centaur.

My old Army sergeants wouldn't know a centaur if it trampled them.

That implies that he ever stopped taking shots. unlikely.

Wasn't there a story about him calling game from third base on Texas? or trying to steal signs? something like that. I didn't actually read the book.
